Central Pennsylvania National Taco Days deals

(WTAJ) – What could be better than National Taco Day falling on Taco Tuesday? Perhaps the deals offered by chain restaurants offer an opportunity to celebrate.

National Taco Day, observed on October 1 in the United States and March 31 in Mexico (called Día del Taco), is a day to celebrate and promote the consumption of tacos. The history of the Tacos Festival can be traced back to the 1960s, when it was celebrated on May 3rd to celebrate the week before Cinco de Mayo.

Offers in Central Pennsylvania for National Taco Day

Taco Bell announced they will be offering $1 tacos for 10 hours. Rewards members are invited to take advantage of the offer between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m. on October 1 and order up to 10 tacos for just $1 each throughout the day.

The chain said there will be a different taco every hour while supplies last. Members will also have access to additional offers launching on Tuesday, October 1st.

While Long John Silver's isn't your typical taco shop, it's also joining in the fun this year. The chain announced that it will offer four tacos for $8 starting October 1st. Through October 25, customers can also order two fish tacos for $5.

Although Chipotle hasn't made any special announcements for National Taco Day, customers are encouraged to showcase their favorite orders online using the hashtag #ChipotleTacoDay for a chance to win a taco-related prize.

Wasn't National Taco Day used to be October 4th?

Yes! You are not experiencing a Mandela Effect moment, the day was previously celebrated on October 4th. However, Taco Bell and the National Day Calendar announced the change to October 1st in early September.

Why? To ensure that National Taco Day always falls on “Taco Tuesday.” However, because the change is so new this year, many businesses and chain restaurants have indicated that customers should be on the lookout for deals on October 4th, and many are making the transition.
