Jack White plays the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma on Thursday

In early August, multi-Grammy-winning garage rocker Jack White quietly released a new album titled No Name. Shortly afterward, it was announced on Instagram that he would be touring the country in support of the album, but would only be performing at “small clubs, backyard parties, and a few festivals here and there to pay the bills.”

To make things even more interesting, White added that the full tour schedule will not be announced in advance. In a series of top-secret “stealth shows,” each individual concert is announced “as close to the show date as possible,” with some performances not announced until the morning of the show itself.

The first of these No Name concerts, which he performed with his band, took place in late July at the American Legion outpost in Nashville, Tennessee. The next one is October 3rd at the Phoenix Theater in Petaluma.

That's this Thursday. Ticket sales begin on Tuesday.

In a surprise statement released without much fanfare on the Phoenix website, the process for obtaining a seat was explained. To purchase a ticket – elsewhere on the tour the ticket reportedly cost around $125 – you must pre-register and receive a code. Beginning Tuesday, October 1 at 1 p.m., ticket seekers can use the Phoenix's online EventBrite system to purchase seats, using the code to gain entry.

A limited number of $25 student tickets will be made available, but must be purchased in person at the Phoenix box office beginning at noon Thursday, the day of the show, the Phoenix announced. They are offered on a first come, first served basis and a valid student ID is required. Only one ticket is sold per student ID card.

“This has been a difficult secret over the last few weeks,” admitted Phoenix Theater manager Tom Gaffey. “A great honor for The Phoenix and many thanks to Jack White and his crew for making this appointment possible.”
