Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers odds, expert tips, how to watch: Eagles on a quest for revenge

The Philadelphia Eagles' disappointing 2023 season ended with a significant playoff loss on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. They can try to get some revenge and perhaps start the 2024 season better on Sunday when they return to Raymond James Stadium as narrow away favorites.

The Eagles have some major concerns on offense, both injury-related and performance-related.

As for the former, wide receiver AJ Brown has missed the last two games due to a hamstring injury, while wide receiver DeVonta Smith had to leave Sunday's game against New Orleans with a concussion. Both are ruled out for this game. Lane Johnson's availability as starting right tackle is also unknown as he suffered a concussion in Week 3. Any of these potential failures would be a major problem for the Eagles' offense.

Performance-wise, quarterback Jalen Hurts is still dealing with the turnover issues and inconsistency that plagued him in the second half of the 2023 season.

Given all of this, the Eagles may once again have to rely on running back Saquon Barkley to be the driving force behind the offense.

He will face a Buccaneers offense that is allowing 137.7 rushing yards per game, which ranks 25th in the NFL entering Sunday.

The Buccaneers' upcoming schedule over the next two months is a brutal one, with games against the Eagles, Falcons, Saints, Ravens, Falcons (again), Chiefs and 49ers all coming up in the next seven weeks. This is a list of Super Bowl contenders and division rivals that not only tells us a lot about how good the Buccaneers are, but also determines the direction their season goes in the standings.
