Stevie Nicks' new single rocks the top 10

Stevie Nicks has never been afraid to stand up for what she believes in, and she's doing just that with her new single. The popular musician released “The Lighthouse” on Friday (September 27) and it quickly became a bestseller in the US

After hours of slow climbing on the American iTunes charts, “The Lighthouse” now appears in the top 10 of the country's list of best-selling titles. Nicks' latest album is at No. 8 at the time of writing.

Nicks is one of the four new top 10 in the iTunes ranking. It's behind Cody Johnson and Carrie Underwood's “I'm Gonna Love You” and “Timeless” by The Weeknd and Playboi Carti. Just a rung after the Fleetwood Mac star comes Timcast and Phil Labonte, pushing their strange collaboration “Coming Home” into major territory.

“The Lighthouse” appears to be a standalone single as no major project from the star has been announced yet, and it is Nicks' first new release of 2024. She joined Dolly Parton on “What Has Rock and Roll Ever Done for You.” . in 2023, and her cover of Buffalo Springfield's “For What It's Worth” came out the year before.

In a press release announcing “The Lighthouse,” Nick’s team shared a statement from the singer-songwriter about the song. The Grammy winner says, “I wrote this song a few months after Roe v. Wade wrote. It seemed like overnight people said, 'What can we do about this as a collective force?' For me, it was about writing a song.” When it comes to her latest cut, she continues, “I have mine often said: 'This is perhaps the most important thing I have ever done. To stand up for the women of the United States and their daughters and granddaughters—and the men who love them.'”

“The Lighthouse” was written by Nicks, Magnus Birgersson and Vincent Villuis. The single was produced by the singer herself and superstar producer Dave Cobb. Another powerhouse musician, Sheryl Crow, is also credited as a producer and also provided background vocals for the song.

Nicks is scheduled to be a musical guest on the episode of Saturday Night Live. With the release of a new single, there's a good chance it will introduce the song to viewers, which can further benefit its sales and streams and perhaps make the song a hit – if it isn't already, at least this one A smaller point in time.
