Teenagers arrested after hit-and-run in the city center

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WTVF) — Two teenagers were arrested after a hit-and-run accident Monday morning on Commerce Street at Representative John Lewis Way.

According to Metro Police, the teens stole a Kia from a parking lot near Nissan Stadium on Sunday evening. What they did after that is unclear, but they were still out at 6:30 a.m. Monday morning.

In the car were 18-year-old Deshawn Horn and a 17-year-old girl. According to the police, they hit a woman in the city center and then fled in the car. Using cameras throughout downtown, the two were eventually spotted outside the Walmart on Dickerson Pike and were later arrested.

There are numerous allegations against the 18-year-old, including vehicle theft, drug possession and failure to render assistance. He is being held on a $61,000 bond. The 17-year-old is facing similar charges in juvenile court.

Police are also investigating the teenager's involvement in other thefts.

Luckily, the woman who gets hit will be okay. She is recovering in hospital.
