What look will Jimmy Butler wear at NBA Media Day 2024? Here's a recap of his previous appearances – NBC 6 South Florida

NBA Media Day in Miami used to be about getting a first look at the team of the year, but now we want to know what see will Jimmy Butler be sporty?

His appearance during his first three seasons with the Miami Heat was fairly standard, but in 2022, “Jimmy Buckets” emerged with a brand new hairstyle that caused a stir on social media.

And last year, Butler transitioned from long locks to his so-called “emo” look.

The star forward debuted his new look during the Miami Heat's media day and revealed that he is now more “in touch” with his feelings.

“I’m an emo, leave me alone,” Butler told reporters.

The new hairstyle was paired with black nail polish and fake facial piercings, which once again went viral on social media.

In fact, a video recorded by NBC6 anchor Kris Anderson and posted to Instagram received more than 19 million views.

What will this year's look be? We're about to find out.

As for the Miami Heat, last season ended in disappointment.

The team lost in the first round of the playoffs to the eventual champions, the Boston Celtics, just a year after reaching the NBA Finals.

But Miami was outnumbered against Boston as both Butler and Terry Rozier missed the series due to injuries.

And this year's team will look almost identical to last year's.

Veterans Butler, Bam Adebayo, Kevin Love and Rozier are joined by younger stars Tyler Herro, Jamie Jaquez Jr. and Nikola Jovic.

Bam just won the gold medal with Team USA at the Paris Olympics and has signed a five-year, $166 million contract extension with the Miami Heat.
